Slack'n Off

Chuck Elston

Wow! Can't believe I ain't been huntin in over 3 weeks.  What with all the rain, the wife's surgery and some temp work, I just haven't had the time.  Gotta get back in the groove.  Still find time to go on AH.com and look at the forums but not spending nearly as much time as I did in the past.  I'll get it back - just gotta slow down a bit first.  Blackberries are getting ripe.  I see the turkeys out eating them everyday now - so, blackberry picking is in my future also.

Nooby in NE Kansas

DJ Hey all, I just joined the site hoping to explore some new terrain and find something I've wanted to all my life. I live near Kansas city and appreciate any direction in arrowhead searching anyone would be willing to disclose. Also up for teaming up as I'd be happy to see how some one more experienced goes about searching. I'm pretty free this weekend if anybody round here plans on going out. I got the itch after exploring an ancient rock art site on a ranchers land in AZ and finding some pottery. Its always been my goal to find an arrowhead after seeing my grandfathers collection and now I'm just ready to get serious about it. Cheers all.

"Faith in the hunt"

Mitchell Clore My name Is Mitchell Clore and this is an opinion/belief of mine on artifact hunting. The #1 factor in becoming a successful artifacts hunter is PATIENCE! How many time have you ran out of it, switched locations? Did you leave anything behind perhaps? The fact is that any little spot you didn't look there may be one there waiting to be picked up. There are more than one in my case that way, and more too come I'm certain. Fine by me, ill take em ;) The reason for this is maybe bad technique, or lack of faith in the spot. Truth is you HAVE to think there's one to be found always, there have been a couple of instances where I may have even willed one out of the ground....lol. Honestly though you have to be optimistic and really patient to make it as a successful artifact hunter. So what I'm saying is if you don't think you're not going to find jack.......you probably won't!

arrowheadbowl

ottercreek

this bowl is 9 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches and 4 1/2 inches deep, the inside of the bowl is 2 1/2 inches deep an and is  6 x 5 3/4 the outer part appears as an arrowhead as does the inner bowl itself.  it was found 4 feet deep which would place it in the paleo period of 10000-12000 years bp just curious, you decide
