EARLY FRONTIER
Though firmly rooted in America’s Midwest today, Wooster was at one time the wild and unexplored
western frontier of the United States. Did you know Wooster was at one time entirely covered in
forest? Traveled by French traders, English soldiers, and Native Americans, Wooster in the 18th
century was a vibrant crossroads of the frontier. During the American Revolution and War of 1812,
this area was a very dangerous locale to travel through, let alone to live in! You are invited to learn
how Wooster was carved from the frontier and built to be the city you know today.

CIVIL WAR/VICTORIAN
It is often said that while the American Revolution created the United States, the Civil War was what
defined the United States and its people. Wooster and Wayne County literally provided thousands
of men to serve in the Union Army, and at one time claimed to have placed a higher percentage of
men in blue uniforms than any other county in the Union. True or not, Wooster has a rich and proud
Civil War heritage. It was these same “boys in blue” who returned to Wooster after the war
determined to live productive lives. You are invited to learn about Wooster’s boys in blue, and the contributions
they made to the federal cause and the local community after their military service ended.

About this Auction:

Featured in this auction are some FANTASTIC artifacts from the Midwest & Southwest. The majority of lots in this sale are from a private collection accumulated in Las Vegas, Nevada. The owner not only had a good eye for artifacts, he was also adamant about authenticity, and 95% of all lots in this sale have a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) with the majority of the COAs being from Dwain Rogers or Ben Stermer.

Found in this sale are some wonderful Texas & Missouri points, as well as a selection of Ohio area flints and ornamental objects. To compliment the Southwestern selection of flints is a superb assortment of Southwestern pottery. Also included are some very nice Precolumbian artifacts including Moche and Inca pottery from Peru.
