The forum has been put into “read only” mode to temporarily stop any further posting. This is needed to ensure that all data can be migrated across to the new forum without interruption. It appears that some of you are still able to post (perhaps because you were logged in at the time the forum was switched to “read only” and have not subsequently logged out). That was not intended to be the case, so please STOP making any further posts.

We are still awaiting advice from the Developer team on when the new forum will go live. When it does, you will no longer see the orange banner message at the top of the page and you will need to log in again. You will also need to renew your password (but you should be able to re-use the same password that you currently have). Passwords cannot be transferred across to the new forum because they are encrypted for your security.

I grew up in VA and spent my younger years in the mountains picking up a good collection of arrowheads over the years. I've been in KS for quite a while now and am getting ready to retire and would like to get back out and start collecting again but am not that familiar with the area. I'm not asking for you to give up your favorites sites but what good areas would you suggest around the KC area or west to Manhattan? I've looked near the Kansas River and some area streams and have found a couple of battered pieces but would like some help if anyone would like to offer some advice. This will keep me out of the house and make my wife very happy since my workig days are almost over.

There is an Artifact Show in Topeka this saturday. Would be a good way to meet some local collectors maybe from your area. There should be collectors there from all over the region.
