Egyptian Pre-Dynastic projectile point, 3 7/8", Egypt, pretty tan flint, Naqada Period, ca. 4000-3000 BC, COA Hixenbaugh Ancient Art, " The Naqada Period is named for the site of Naqada in upper Egypt where Flinders Petrie excavated more than 3,000 graves in 1892. Stone tools are relatively rare among the grave goods found in Naqada I (Amratian) and Naqada II (Gerzean) graves, though when found, they tend to be of very fine quality. By the Naqada II Period (ca. 3,500-3,200 BC) the Egyptians began to exploit a wide variety of stone, including limestone, brescia, alabaster, serpentine, diorite, and basalt. By the Naqada III Period copper metallurgy had been discovered and flint tool and weapon manufacture ceased."
